Substance Abuse Treatment FAQ
With over 17 years of experience providing successful addiction treatment services, Focus Treatment Centers understands the challenges faced by those struggling with addiction. The recovery journey to become sober and stay sober can begin at Focus.
Is drug rehab at Focus covered by insurance?
Yes, we are contracted with most major insurance companies. If your carrier or policy does not cover, our admissions team aims to be as supportive and flexible as possible in making treatment accessible and affordable.
What Activities are part of your drug rehab program?
We believe in treating the whole person (physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally). We offer yoga, art therapy, music therapy, nutritional therapy, and weekly outings funded by Focus such as going to the movies, park, hikes, etc. Our goal is for our patients to learn how to have fun and enjoy life without their addiction.
Do You Utilize A 12-Step Philosophy?
We are not a 12-step program, but we do utilize the 12-step philosophies in our treatment approach.
What Is A Typical Day Like?
A typical day begins with breakfast, our morning bell tradition, and meditation or yoga. After meditation, patients participate in group therapy, followed by self care time, and then lunch. Following lunch, patients participate in a specialized group such as relapse prevention, a community meeting or art therapy. Patients then have free time prior to dinner. Following dinner, patients will participate in an on or offsite 12-step meeting followed by self-care time for assignments or visiting with other patients. Patient schedules are structured and busy; however, we also include adequate amounts of free time for visiting and connecting with one another as well as downtime for all over healing.
How Long Does Detoxification Usually Last?
The average detoxification period lasts between 4 and 10 days but can be longer depending on intensity and substance used. In many instances, we can provide medication support to avoid harsh withdrawal symptoms.
What is your smoke/vaping policy?
Patients may smoke in the courtyard during designated free times. Vaping is allowed during those times, but only sealed commercial cartridges are permitted.
how many people are in a room?
There are two people to a room in our residential unit.
Will I Be Meeting With A Psychiatrist?
Upon admission, each patient will have an initial meeting and evaluation with our psychiatrist. After the initial meeting, each patient will meet with our psychiatrist on an as needed basis.
How Long Do People Usually Stay?
The length of stay varies for each individual and their specific needs. Inpatient length ranges from 16-45 days, with 21-35 days as the most common for lasting recovery. Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services are offered for step-down levels of care once residential treatment has been completed.
When Are Visiting Hours?
Visitation is on Saturdays from 1pm-3pm (after 5 days of admission).
Do You Offer Treatment Programs For Family Members?
Yes, we offer weekly family therapy with the patient’s individual therapist, along with free family support groups. Family involvement is essential for longterm recovery, and we want loved ones to understand their important roles both during and after treatment.
How can I continue to provide for my family while I’m away at rehab?
Going to rehab means time away from your family and responsibilities. We understand family absence can be a deterrent for people when it comes to seeking help. Our team is here to help provide the support you need, and to support your family through the whole treatment process. We try to help potential patients understand that there are endless ways to provide support for your family. Assertive communication, learning how to talk things through, and problem solving can go a long way. During treatment, we help families get creative with how they can be there for each other, and to ultimately realize that getting healthy will only allow them to show up for their loved ones even more effectively.
